Block Printing on Textiles | 10/14/23 | 10am to 1pm
Create your own block printed tea towel
In this three-hour workshop, you will learn about all things block printing – Sarah will share her inspiration and approaches to pattern design, and then demonstrate the basics of carving and block printing on fabric. You will have plenty of time to experiment with positive and negative space, symmetry and scale, as you design your own block. You will be guided through setting up your printing area and printing on a cotton tea towel – an ideal project for beginners and more experienced printers alike.

Learn the Art of Kintsugi
Kintsugi is the Japanese art of putting broken pottery pieces back together with gold — a metaphor for embracing your flaws and imperfections. “You won't realize your full potential until you go through the tough times," In this three hour workshop, Studio Mooi owner Tanya guides you on a life journey using the art of Kintsugi. The workshop begins by learning about the traditional practice of Kin (golden) Tsugi (joining) and then re-creating our own "golden joining" piece through modern techniques. During the workshop, we take a look at all the various elements used in Kintsugi and what they represent in our own life journey. In this two-hour workshops you will learn how to measure, mix and heat resin to create either your own wood or slate resin cheese board perfect for entertaining. Topics covered include mixing resin with hardener, optimal temperature, pouring resin and getting out bubbles, and creating ocean cells using a heat gun.

Join Mariana Aramburu for a creative workshop where you will learn the art of adding texture to paper through various techniques, including coloring, painting, folding, scoring, and cutting. Learning the fundamental principles of color and composition to enhance your artistic skills, you will draft your artistic ideas and bring them to life by skillfully cutting and layering paper. The end result will be a stunning 7x5 inch artwork that not only has visual depth and texture but can also be proudly displayed as it is or placed in a shadowbox for added dimension. Join Liat Weiss from Dew Drop Inc. where she teaches you how to make professional looking personalized ornaments made from polymer clay! In this 2 hour workshop, you will create ornaments with heart warming messages, names, and memorable dates. In this three-hour workshop, you will join Studio Mooi founder Tanya to learn the ins and outs of needle felting with wool. Needle felting is a therapeutic art form that lets your mind wander as you create 2 to 3 beautiful, felted ornaments, including a cute little festive gnome. These are perfect for your own holiday tree or for giving as gifts for the holidays.
