Kintsugi is the Japanese art of putting broken pottery pieces back together with gold, a metaphor for embracing your flaws and imperfections. “You won't realize your full potential until you go through the tough times," In this three hour Kintsugi for Beginners workshop, Studio Mooi owner Tanya guides you on a life journey using the art of Kintsugi. The workshop begins by learning about the traditional practice of Kin (golden) Tsugi (joining) and then re-creating our own "golden joining" piece through modern techniques. During the workshop, we take a look at all the various elements used in Kintsugi and what they represent in our own life journey. Pottery will be provided. Please note: We do not recommend this workshop for pregnant or breastfeeding women due to the nature of the chemicals. Please Note: We do NOT offer repairs We provide the pottery for the workshop as there is a learning curve when learning the art of Kintsugi.
