Workshop Description

Come get muddy with Lisa from Beaches Pottery in this Handbuild Ceramics workshop, and experience the fun of working with clay! We will be using our hands and basic tools to create flat slabs of clay that we’ll shape into functional pieces for your home. This workshop is great for beginners and if you attended our first clay workshop you will build on the skills you learned there. You will create two pieces: a cup and a plate or bowl. Perfect for your favourite beverage and snack combo! Templates will be provided. Feel free to bring any textured cloth, lace or stamps that you might like to use to add interest to your piece. Glazes and clay pictured may not be exact! We will be working with a local stoneware clay, colour will vary based on availability.You will have three glazes to choose from: Gloss Blue, Matte Green or Gloss White. Test tiles will be provided at the workshop so you can see examples. Glazes are food safe. Your pieces will be glazed, fired twice and returned to the studio for pick up. PLEASE NOTE: Please allow up to 8 weeks for the glazing and firing process. We will contact you when your pieces are ready to be taken home. WORKSHOP DETAILS AGE APPROPRIATENESS: 12+ with participating adult accompaniment or 14+ LEVEL: Beginner, no previous experience necessary MATERIALS PROVIDED: Clay Glaze Tools for Building All of our workshops include tea, coffee and something sweet. Cancellation Policy

Classes are non-refundable and you cannot reschedule or transfer to another class. Our facilitators customize, purchase and prepare the materials for each participant in advance. If you would like to send someone else in your place, that’s absolutely okay, however we will need for you to provide their name, phone number and email address 24 hours before the class scheduled time either by email or phone. We are unable to transfer a credit after the class date has passed. Should any updated COVID restrictions require us to postpone classes, your ticket will be moved to a rescheduled date or converted to a Twelve (12) month credit that can be used to rebook into an alternative class at a later date.
