Workshop Description

10/22/24 | 9:30am-1:30pm (with 1/2 hour lunch break) Join Kathryn Bondy for this amazing 4 hour Crépe Paper Flower Making workshop and learn the art of paper flower making. In this workshop you will learn how to create a highly realistic paper papillon poppy using simple materials and techniques that yield beautifully lifelike results. This workshop will begin with a brief demonstration on how to look at a flower and observe both its beauty and its complexity, as well as learning the botanical names of all parts of a poppy flower. Using simple tools like paintbrushes, scissors and scoring tools, you will learn how to fold, roll, emboss and shape crepe paper into delicately detailed poppy petals and elegantly curved leaves. By the end of this workshop, you will leave with a beautifully finished paper poppy and the skills needed to begin creating many other flowers in paper. But you will also leave with a renewed sense of wonder for the natural world and a deepened appreciation for all its beauty. You won't leave this workshop looking at flowers in the same way again!
