Workshop Description
05/26/24 | 10:30am to 1:30pm Curious about block printing? Do you have textiles like table napkins or shirts in need of a refresh? In this three-hour workshop, join Sarah to learn how to create your own hand carved lino block, and how to use block printing to give your household textiles a new life. Sarah will take you through various design approaches and then demonstrate carving techniques for you to practice. You will have time to draw, carve, and print your unique design on your own cotton items. This is a beginner-friendly workshop, all experience levels are welcome. Household items that work well for block printing: cotton/ linen napkins, dishtowels, pillowcases, handkerchiefs, jeans, T shirts, button-up shirts, canvas tote bags (please note that your items should be able to be ironed on high heat). WORKSHOP DETAILS AGE APPROPRIATENESS: 14+ (if accompanied with an adult). LEVEL: Beginner, no previous experience necessary. ALL MATERIALS WILL BE PROVIDED Carving Tool Soft Rubber Brayer Screen printing Ink - Black, Blue, Red, Yellow, Green, Pink Soft Linoleum (4x6 inch) All of our workshops include tea, coffee and something sweet. Cancellation Policy
Classes are non-refundable and you cannot reschedule or transfer to another class. Our facilitators customize, purchase and prepare the materials for each participant in advance. If you would like to send someone else in your place, that’s absolutely okay, however we will need for you to provide their name, phone number and email address 24 hours before the class scheduled time either by email or phone. We are unable to transfer a credit after the class date has passed. Should any updated COVID restrictions require us to postpone classes, your ticket will be moved to a rescheduled date or converted to a Twelve (12) month credit that can be used to rebook into an alternative class at a later date.
