Workshop Description

Sashiko is a method of visible mending originating in Japan during the Edo period. In this workshop, Allie Davis (they/them), will help you create a patch to mend a garment, while giving you some of the historical and cultural context behind indigo dyeing and sashiko. WORKSHOP INFORMATION AGE APPROPRIATENESS: 14+ (with a participating adult) LEVEL: Beginner, no previous experience necessary MATERIALS PROVIDED: Sashiko Needles Sashiko Cotton Thread Fabric for Patches Chalk Scissors Thimbles Sashiko pattern templates All of our workshops include tea, coffee and something sweet. Cancellation Policy

Classes are non-refundable and you cannot reschedule or transfer to another class. Our facilitators customize, purchase and prepare the materials for each participant in advance. If you would like to send someone else in your place, that’s absolutely okay, however we will need for you to provide their name, phone number and email address 24 hours before the class scheduled time either by email or phone. We are unable to transfer a credit after the class date has passed. Should any updated COVID restrictions require us to postpone classes, your ticket will be moved to a rescheduled date or converted to a Twelve (12) month credit that can be used to rebook into an alternative class at a later date.
