Workshop Description
Discover the magic of image-making in this hands-on gel medium photo transfer workshop. Participants will learn how to transform magazine clippings or laser-printed images into soft, layered transfers on canvas, creating artwork that feels both tactile and expressive. Step by step, you’ll adhere, reveal, and refine your transfer, then use paint to blend edges, add depth, and build a cohesive mixed-media piece. The focus is on process over perfection—inviting patience, play, and curiosity as each artwork unfolds. You’ll leave with a finished piece plus a versatile technique you can continue exploring long after the workshop ends. PLEASE NOTE: Participants are encouraged to bring in magazines, laser printouts, or photocopies. INKJET PRINTS ARE NOT SUITABLE FOR THIS PROCESS. AGE APPROPRIATENESS: 14+ LEVEL: Beginner, no previous experience necessary MATERIALS PROVIDED Canvases Gel medium Acrylic paint, brushes etc Everything else you need to get creative! All of our workshops include tea, coffee and something sweet. If you have any dietary restrictions, please let us know. Cancellation Policy
Classes are non-refundable. Cancellations are not permitted. Up to 7 days before the workshop, registrations may be: - Held as a credit on file, or - Transferred to another workshop of equal or greater value - Both of these processes are subject to a $15 administrative fee. To request a credit or transfer, please email hello@studiomooi.ca with the workshop you wish to move to. Our team will follow up to assist. Within 7 days of the workshop, credits and transfers are no longer available. Within this 7-day period, you may send someone in your place. Replacement participant details (first and last name, email, and phone number) must be provided at least 48 hours before the workshop begins. We are unable to transfer a credit after the class date has passed. Please check our Terms and Conditions for more details.
