Painting with Light: Cyanotype Printing

Workshop Description
Watch as sunlight transforms to art right before your eyes! Join Ting from The Blu Art for a fun and hands-on introduction to Painting with Light: Cyanotype Printing! This 2.5hr (to 3hrs - weather dependent) workshop dives one of the earliest photographic printing processes. Participants will learn the fundamentals of cyanotype printing, using flowers, leaves, and other organic materials to create 1-2 (weather permitting) stunning, matted blue-and-white prints. Participants are encourage to bring their favourite flowers or leaves. Both fresh and pressed flowers are suitable. Please wear clothing with which you are comfortable getting messy. AGE APPROPRIATENESS: 15+ (with a participating adult) LEVEL: Beginner, no previous experience necessary MATERIALS PROVIDED Print on Paper Option: Paper in Various Sizes: 4x6" (6x8" matted), 8x12" (12x16" matted) Print on T-Shirt Option: 4x6 paper, cotton t-shirt Cyanotype Solutions Mat Boards Paint Trays Brushes Acrylic Sheets Clips Flowers and botanicals Our "Print on Paper" registration option includes creating up to 2 prints on 4x6" and 8x12" paper. Our "Print on T-Shirt" registration option includes creating a 4x6" print on paper, and printing your own cyanotype t-shirt (please specify size in booking form at checkout). Participants are welcome to bring a t-shirt from home, but to ensure best results, we recommend our "Print on T-Shirt" option. Please note: frames are not included All of our workshops include tea, coffee and something sweet. If you have any dietary restrictions, please let us know. Cancellation Policy
Classes are non-refundable and you cannot reschedule or transfer to another class. Our facilitators customize, purchase and prepare the materials for each participant in advance. If you would like to send someone else in your place, that’s absolutely okay, however we will need for you to provide their name, phone number and email address 24 hours before the class scheduled time either by email or phone. We are unable to transfer a credit after the class date has passed. Should any updated COVID restrictions require us to postpone classes, your ticket will be moved to a rescheduled date or converted to a Twelve (12) month credit that can be used to rebook into an alternative class at a later date.
